I have really enjoyed my yoga and Julie has always been such a great teacher and explains everything thoroughly to ensure that you benefit from the practice. I am now much more aware of how I hold my body on a day to day basis and am now able to rectify my positioning to ensure better posture. Julie has helped me to “be” rather than “do”.

I have been attending Jules’s yoga class for about 2 years now. The classes are varied and fun and I always leave them feeling relaxed yet energised. My flexibility has improved no end and I feel a great sense of wellbeing. The great thing about Jules’s classes is that you do each posture to your own measure so they are suitable for all levels and all ages!

Every week my legs and hips are still getting stronger. When I started Yoga with Julie after 2 hip operations I was very unsteady on my feet. Now I can balance very well and with Julie’s expert tuition and awareness of my limitations, have achieved all my strength back and more.

I have been attending Jules yoga classes for nearly a year now, mostly twice a week. I have found them to be enjoyable yet challenging and has it increased my core strength and flexibility tremendously. I find it compliments everything I do from work to relaxation, as it has made me aware of how important it is to stay healthy and flexible. I would recommend Jules’s class to all of my friends and relatives.

Our class together on a Tuesday afternoon is a very special time. Our teacher – Julie – is very knowledgeable and extremely attentive, instructing us in a caring way but nevertheless, we work hard! I would recommend this class to anyone who wishes to remain healthy and agile. Yoga becomes a way of life!

When my Iyengar class closed down and I joined Julie’s class, I was amazed and delighted at how much my fitness and health improved. Julie’s gentle way of stretching and preparing our bodies for yoga poses is quite remarkable. Her classes are a very important part of my well- being.

I really look forward to my Tuesday Yoga class. Julie is a great teacher, she explains everything so well and makes sure that we that we don’t do more than we are capable of. She is also very good at pointing out our little weaknesses and shows us how to correct them. Thanks Julie for your encouragement each week.

We’ve been going to Julie’s yoga class for about 2 months now and have seen massive gains in our flexibility and core strength. It’s resulted in less time spent in the physio room and more on the pitch which is great for any rugby player! Julie has made us feel welcome from day one, and the calm and accepting environment she has created makes it perfect for all sexes, ages and abilities.

Yoga was something I knew very little about. It was recommended to me by my therapist who was treating me for social anxiety and shyness. I could tell early on that Jules’s Yoga class was something I would enjoy doing regularly. The atmosphere in the class is always very friendly. Jules encourages you to quieten down your mind, let go of negative thoughts and breathe naturally. I find this very helpful in easing my feelings of anxiety.
I once believed in the common misconception that Yoga is not physically demanding. When I first started attending Jules’s class three years ago I soon discovered this was far from the truth! Jules takes us through a range of dynamic postures that really energize and invigorate me. it’s really great to notice how much increased strength, flexibility and balance I’ve developed under Jules’s careful instruction.
Another aspect of Jules’s teaching that I really like is the various subtle moves that she teaches. These moves have helped me get in touch with my body more and have also helped me to recognize when I create unnecessary tension in my body. The good posture I have learned in the class is now second nature to me and I now approach everyday movements with more consideration.
I now go to Jules’s class twice a week and I am sincerely grateful to her not only for her terrific teaching but for her continued patience and understanding.

I am in my early 50s and have been attending Julie’s yoga classes regularly for 4-5 years. They have pinpointed where I have reduced flexibility and stiffness and there has been a slow but noticeable improvement over time. I have also been interested in the concept of posture, and balance of each side of the body, and now do not have to make a conscious effort to stand up straight and walk tall and be well balanced. I particularly became aware that I was slumped when driving and now remind myself to adjust my posture and relax my shoulders. This still feels a bit of a challenge and I can feel that my upper back muscles are making an effort but it is becoming easier.
Julie is an experienced and observant teacher and is able to spot incorrect or unbalanced positioning; she can also explain to, or show her students where they are wrong and encourage them to be able to ”feel” when there is imbalance or tension and be able to self-correct. Julie has good knowledge of cause and effect of muscle of joint difficulties, ageing, excess weight etc. and is able to advise modified postures where necessary.
Julie’s classes are not easy but offer a good blend of flexibility and strength training with a planned progression towards a final posture that is suitable for all class members. I would hope to continue with yoga training for as long as is physically possible for me as I have found it extremely beneficial.

I have practised yoga on and off over the past 30 years, but for the last 8 years I have been a constant member of Julie’s class. I find the benefits of attending her class have helped my body to retain flexibility and strength, and have helped me to relax both in mind and body. As I am now fast approaching advanced years, I find that yoga is helping me to retain flexibility and strength particularly in my spine, hips, knees and shoulders, which are all parts of the body that can frequently become problem areas in old age if left to inactivity. Yoga is not a competition to see how much better you can perform the exercises compared with other members in the class, but Julie has the expertise to help each member of her class to attain their own individual maximum potential in order to gain the greatest benefit from the exercise. Although I am the oldest member of Julie’s class that I attend, I have always felt completely at ease with my fellow younger members, both male and female, and happy in the knowledge that yoga is keeping me young!

At last I have found a yoga class to suit me, one that energises me, and I can put it into practise as I go about daily life! what more could I ask!
